A message to you from our Group Chief Executive
I had hoped that 2021 would offer our members and customers a greater degree of normality and that our Covid journey would be nearing an end.
Whilst that is not yet the case, above all, I hope that you and your loved ones have remained well, and this message finds you in good health.
May I also say a huge thank you to those of you playing a critical role in our fight against Covid-19. Everyone at Wesleyan is incredibly proud to be supporting the financial needs of our ‘Covid heroes’, more so today than ever.
With this in mind, I want to remind all of our valued customers that as Wesleyan enters our 180th year, we are Here for You.

Through our advisory boards and focus groups, I have heard a wide range of stories about how Covid-19 has impacted your lives and livelihoods and how the Wesleyan Group has been able to help. Whatever position you are in, however much it has changed and however long ago it was that you last spoke to us, our passion for offering you the best advice, products and services remains constant.

Our customer contact centres are available at Wesleyan, Wesleyan Bank and the Practice Plan Group - we’re here to help.
In addition to the financial advice and support we have to offer, as a mutual we are passionate about going the extra mile for our customers, particularly when it comes to protecting and enhancing your mental health during these challenging times.
All members and customers have free access to the Wesleyan Wellbeing hub, which is available for health and wellbeing advice 24/7 if you need it. I know some customers have found it to be a very useful resource in these difficult times.
Investing for the future
The pandemic has been hugely challenging for businesses across the world and our 2020 financial results will undoubtedly show Covid-related impacts. However, I am delighted to report that our financial strength and ‘long-term’ approach to decision making has seen us continue to invest in our business throughout the pandemic.
Despite the challenges we faced in 2020, we were still able to invest a record amount in our infrastructure and capabilities, aimed at improving customer experience and outcomes in the years ahead.
Securely managing your savings and investments is something we are proud of doing. We have done so through our award-winning, in-house investment team for many years and they have continued to trade with the aim of delivering competitive and sustainable returns for our customers. Our financial strength remains one of the highest in the industry, meaning we are in a better position to look after your money when faced with market volatility as we did in 2020.

Whilst I cannot speculate when an element of normality will return, I do know that it will, and we are optimistic about seeing you in person again soon.
